Augusta Prep wins GISA State Literary competition

Augusta Prep won the GISA State Literary Competition on Wednesday, March 17, at Gordon State College in Barnesville, Ga. Prep has won the State Literary Competition five times in the past six years.

Augusta Prep has six first-place finishes and five runner-up showings for a total of 65 points. The first-place finishers were:

Quartet- 1st place (Fred, Aidan, Troxell, and Madelyn)
Piano-1st place (Yuchen)
Treble solo-1st (Isabella)
Trio-tied for 1st (Isabella, Kennedy and Caileigh)
Low voice solo-tied for 1st (Troxell)
Personal essay- 1st (Sylas)

The runner-up finishers were:

Argumentative essay-tied for 2nd (Lilly)
Rhetorical essay-tied for 2nd (Abby)
Spelling-2nd (Sarah)
Humorous Oral Interpretation- 2nd (Jasper)
Dramatic Oral Interpretation- 2nd (Claire)

Also, Augusta Prep has one third-place finish

Extemporaneous Speaking- 3rd (Ayanna)
