Advisory Program

Our Middle School Advisory Program develops student character and soft skills, and it serves as a strategic time for community building. With consideration of grade level, personality traits, and student and faculty interests, students are paired with a faculty advisor and a small group of their peers. The groups meet once a week to engage in conversations and activities that enrich the middle school experience. One week groups may be reviewing grades and setting academic goals, the next week they may be discussing ways to debate and disagree appropriately, and the next week they may be working with other advisory groups to celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of our Prep family. Because advisors stay with their advisory group for all four middle school years, they are excellent supporters for our students as they take on more personal responsibility and work through our challenging curriculum. The Middle School Advisory program was started in 2013 and has been an evolving success ever since.
