PREP FAMILY ASSOCIATION
The Augusta Prep Parent League is getting a makeover for the 2021-2022 school year along with a new name!  Welcome to the "PREP FAMILY ASSOCIATION" or PFA where we welcome all of our AP community to volunteer (not just parents)!
 
After being socially distant for so long we are ready to come back together! As such, we are phasing out a lot of individual positions and moving toward more committees.  This will allow us to bond as a community and work TOGETHER instead of doing jobs solo.  We think it's more fun to work on a project with a friend AND make new friends across all divisions!

Listed below are the opportunities we have available for the 2021-2022 school year.  There are so many ways you can get involved next year. Read through these committee descriptions and think about how you would like to help make our school even BETTER!!  Tell a friend and sign up for as many committees as you like!!! We can't wait to work with you!!

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: Partner with the Head of school, Division Heads, and the Prep Admin team to plan and oversee volunteer work across the school. Two-year minimum. First year shadowing current lead. Final year training shadowed incoming lead.

60TH COMMITTEE: Committee assists with events during the 60th anniversary, Sept. 9-11. 

EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION COMMITTEE: Committee organizes school-wide Employee Appreciation Week events and organize division teacher treats.

COMMUNITY EVENTS COMMITTEE: Sub-committees in this group organize Community Events such as Annual Festivals (e.g., new all-school Fall Carnival), Special Events (e.g., Anniversary soiree, golf tournament, 60th tailgate), and Prep Family Events (e.g., volunteer brunch, SRP ballpark night, movie night).

SERVICE COMMITTEE: Sub-committees in this group will volunteer to assist at school events as needed (e.g., Grandparents Day, Olympic Day, Booster Club collaborations, and partnering with student service club as needed).  In addition another sub-committee here will ensure the Beautification of our school grounds (e.g., assist with school flags, seasonal decor & planters, maintenance of planters).

EDUCATION COMMITTEES: Sub-committees in this group will partner with the Head of School on a community off-campus book club as well as partner with the school counselors on a speaker series of relevant topics to the community in the Mindful Matters session.

GRADUATION COMMITTEES: Sub-committees assists Upper School activities centered around graduation, National Honor Society tapping, and Upper School Honors Night. Another sub-committee assists with Middle-School & Lower-School recognition and graduation ceremonies.

CLASS REPRESENTATIVE: Occasionally, we are in need of distributing information specifically to an individual class and are in need of volunteers to help get that message out to the families within their grade. If you are interested in possibly serving as a class rep for your students' grade(s) please consider signing up for this too!

NEW FAMILY MENTORS: Roll out the welcome wagon for incoming families new to prep! Sign up to be matched with a new family who might need some advice along the way.
