Tuition and Affordability

Augusta Prep realizes that an independent education is an investment and for some families, this may stretch a family’s resources. Therefore, Augusta Prep has multiple resources to offer financial support to mission-appropriate students in Grades K-12 whose families demonstrate financial need. On average, 30% of our families receive scholarships and tuition assistance.

  • What is Flexible Tuition?

Flexible Tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program that allows families to apply for reduced tuition taking their financial circumstances into account. This process looks at what a family can afford and what is the fair share a family will pay for tuition.

Flexible Tuition is designed to make an Augusta Prep education accessible to more families by meeting the needs of each family’s unique financial situation. Therefore, all mission appropriate students are afforded the opportunity to be a part of the Prep community.
  • Is my family eligible for Flexible Tuition?

Flexible Tuition is offered to students in Grades K-12. There is a wide range of families who qualify, from those who can afford only minimal tuition to those who can afford almost full tuition. We recognize that every family situation is different and that even a small amount of reduced tuition can make a critical difference for many families. All families who feel they cannot meet the full tuition obligation are encouraged to apply for assistance and must complete the FAST application.
  • Scholarships

THE MALONE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: Augusta Prep is the only school in Georgia designated as a Malone school, which offers scholarship opportunities to new students in the top 5 percent of their class who demonstrate academic achievement, exemplary citizenship, and leadership potential as well as financial need. The scholarship is for U.S. citizens in grades 7-10. The scholarship can cover up to 100% of the cost of tuition and most fees and is renewable through 12th grade.

THE GOIZUETA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Goizueta Foundation provides scholarships to qualified Hispanic/Latino students in grades 7-12. The scholarship covers a portion of the tuition for each year the student qualifies. The scholarship is based on academic talent, character, and financial need and is renewable through 12th grade.

GEORGIA GOAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The Georgia GOAL Scholarship provides tuition scholarships to children who desire to attend private K-12 schools. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must be a Georgia resident and demonstrate financial need. In addition, a student must be currently enrolled in, and
    • has attended a Georgia secondary or primary public school for at least 6 weeks immediately prior to receiving a scholarship or
    • been enrolled in an official homeschool program for at least one year immediately prior to receiving a scholarship or
    • Eligible to enroll in a qualified Kindergarten, or 1st grade program.

    W. RODGER GILES HERITAGE ACADEMY SCHOLARS PROGRAM (8th grade Heritage Academy students only):
Augusta Prep is honored to be the recipient of an endowed scholarship to support the educational journey of intrinsically motivated Heritage Academy graduates who demonstrate superior academic ability, motivation, and financial need. The scholarship can cover up to 100% of the cost of tuition and most fees and is renewable through 12th grade.
  • Multiple Student Discount

MULTIPLE STUDENT DISCOUNT: Families with 3 or more children enrolled at Augusta Prep who do not receive tuition assistance are eligible for the multiple student discount. Discounts are 10% for the 3rd child, 20% for the 4th child or additional children.

All families who feel they cannot meet the full tuition obligation are encouraged to apply for assistance and must complete the FAST application. Families must submit the most recent federal tax return, W-2, and state tax return to FAST to complete the application. Factors like income, family circumstances, and the cost of living are assessed by FAST, a confidential third-party service who reviews the financial information provided by families.

Once a student is accepted to Augusta Prep, the financial aid application will be reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee. Financial aid awards are not determined until an applicant is accepted. Therefore, families must complete the admission application prior to completing the financial aid application. The Financial Aid Committee considers the FAST recommendation in determining eligibility for tuition assistance and scholarships.
