Augusta Prep adds two more Heritage Academy scholars for 2026-27 school year

Augusta Preparatory Day School is proud to announce the sixth recipient of the W. Rodger Giles scholarship, Heritage Academy 8th grader Zadynn. This full-tuition, merit-based scholarship is awarded annually to incoming freshmen from Heritage Academy and will cover the students’ high school education.
The partnership between Heritage Academy and Augusta Prep was made possible by a generous gift from the estate of the late, local philanthropist and businessman, W. Rodger Giles, who was passionate about the betterment of children and childhood education. In 2021, Elijah McFadgen (Class of '25) became the first Heritage Academy student to become a recipient of the scholarship.

Augusta Prep also welcomes Peyton as a Malone scholar. Augusta Prep is the only school in Georgia designated as a Malone school, which offers scholarship opportunities to new students in the top 5 percent of their class who demonstrate academic achievement, exemplary citizenship, and leadership potential as well as financial need. The Malone scholarship is for U.S. citizens in grades 7-10. The scholarship can cover up to 100% of the cost of tuition and most fees and is renewable through 12th grade.

"We are delighted to have Peyton and Zadynn join us for the 2026-27 school year," Augusta Prep Head of School Eric Hedinger said. "We are thankful to have such a wonderful working relationship with Heritage Academy. Tana Watson (Heritage executive director) and her faculty and staff do such an incredible job helping educate Heritage students. We look forward to having many more Heritage scholars joining Augusta Prep in the future."

Augusta Prep is ranked as the Augusta area's No. 1 as the Best Private K-12 School and No. 1 College Prep school by Niche.com.
