Three Augusta Prep students selected for Georgia Governor's Honors Program

Three Augusta Prep students (Aaditya Doppalapudi, Narek Heboyan, and Aidan Kho) have been accepted into the Georgia Governor's Honors Program. More than 4,000 students throughout the state were nominated for this program, with 600 to 700 students selected, representing the top 1 percent of Georgia high school students. This is the first time Augusta Prep has had more than one student selected in a single year for this program.
To qualify, a student must be a sophomore or junior who has demonstrated high aptitude and high interest in one area of nomination. Experience can be determined based off schoolwork, standardized test scores, or extracurricular activities outside of the typical classroom environment.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (https://gosa.georgia.gov/governors-honors-program) is held in the summer (mid-June to mid-July) as a residential educational experience on a college or university campus. Students attend classes in the mornings and afternoons in specific areas of study, and they participate in a wide variety of social and instructional opportunities every evening. Meals and rooms are provided by the program. The only required and expected costs to the students are: travel expenses to and from the semifinalist event and host campus; a few basic supplies for classes and dorm rooms; and spending money as desired during the program.
