Ludwig named Augusta Prep Director of Development for 2023-2024

Augusta Prep is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Kristin Ludwig as its new Director of Development for the 2023-2024 school year.
Dr. Ludwig replaces Pam Weinberger, who has served as Director of Development since the 2012-2013 school year. Before that, Ms. Weinberger served as a Prep parent and on the school’s Board of Trustees. She has been instrumental in fundraising efforts for the $600,000 Cavalier Stadium and the $11.2 million W. Rodger Giles Institute for Inquiry, which is currently under construction and expected to open in January 2024.

Dr. Ludwig earned her bachelor’s degree in human development at Eckerd College. She then went on to earn a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in human development and family studies from Auburn University.
In 2000, Dr. Ludwig began her career in fundraising at Webber International University, where she oversaw student fundraising activities and special events. She continued her fundraising path at The Phoenix School in Salem, Mass., as the Director of Development and Admission. After a stop at the Pinigree School in South Hamilton, MA, as the Associate Director of Development, she worked at the University of Texas at Dallas as Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.

She then worked as a consultant for Blackbaud, the industry leader in fundraising database software solutions, for six years.

Dr. Ludwig returned to the private school setting when she worked for two years at Blue Oak School in Napa, Calif. Later, she moved back into the college sector, adding stops at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Auburn University and most recently at New Mexico State University, where she served for two years as the Vice President of Operations. She also published several online articles and delivered numerous presentations at philanthropic professionals conferences over the last decade.

Augusta Prep Head of School Derrick Willard said, "We are so excited to have Dr. Ludwig join the team. Her depth and breadth of experience in the fundraising world will be of great benefit to the Prep community as we complete the capital campaign and begin a new strategic plan."

Dr. Ludwig said she’s excited to return to working in a smaller private school setting. Those feelings, she said, were reaffirmed when she spent two days last week at Augusta Prep.

"When I arrived at Prep and saw the Lower School and the children playing and then saw the students in the Middle and Upper Schools, I was just overwhelmed with such a sense of energy," Dr. Ludwig said. "It was an amazing two days and I’m feeling blessed and excited to now say, I’m going to be a part of the Augusta Prep community!"
