Two Augusta Prep senior student-athletes sign NCAA Division I offers

Augusta Prep seniors Marina Boni and Hayes Trapp were honored Monday afternoon with a signing ceremony in the Hull Fine Arts Center. Boni signed with Mercer to play women's soccer next fall, while Trapp will join William & Mary as a cross country and track and field athlete.
Boni is the goalkeeper of Augusta Prep's two-time defending state champion girls soccer team. In four postseason contests last season, Marina allowed just one goal. She will return to Mercer, where Augusta Prep defeated Holy Spirit Prep, 3-0, in the state title match in May.

Trapp is one of the top cross country runners in the nation, holding the Augusta Prep record for fastest cross country time (15:04.25). He recently won the GIAA individual title despite running a 103-degree fever. This past weekend, Trapp won the Georgia High School Meet of Champions event. Trapp finishes his prep cross country career with three consecutive state championships in cross country.

The signing ceremony for Boni and Trapp was covered by WRDW and The Augusta Chronicle. You can watch the WRDW piece here.
