Tuition alone does not cover the entire cost of educating a student at Augusta Prep. Each year, our school families, faculty and staff, alumni, and friends give generously to the Annual Fund toward supporting all students at Augusta Preparatory Day School, for example, through such such programs as student financial assistance..

Tuition Refund Plan

Because the financial commitment of enrollment is for an entire year, Augusta Prep offers a Tuition Refund Plan. For a charge of 2.3% of the total tuition, parents may insure themselves against full liability for unused tuition. Please contact the Admission Office for details of this program.

Financial Aid

Augusta Prep's financial aid program is designed to support our commitment to helping families afford the cost of tuition for Kindergarten - Grade 12. Grades Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten are not eligible for financial assistance. Financial aid is granted to families on the basis of need, as determined by the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). Augusta Prep strives to make equitable aid awards, relative to each family’s level of demonstrated financial need and to the school’s student aid budget.

FAST is an online service that provides a recommendation to Augusta Prep of what a family should be able to contribute toward tuition, based on income, expenses, and net worth. The Financial Aid Committee reviews the FAST recommendation and decides the amount of aid, if any, awarded to each family.

Families who wish to apply for assistance should notify the Admission Office and file with FAST online after November 1st. The priority deadline for filing with FAST is February 1.

Also, parents must submit a copy of their most recent Federal Tax Return and W-2’s to FAST in order to complete the financial aid application process. These forms are due to FAST 2 weeks after filing, or at your very earliest convenience. It is recommended that you submit all forms by the stated deadlines in order to receive priority consideration.

Augusta Preparatory Day School aspires to create financial access for qualified students through its scholarship as well as its need-based financial aid programs. Each year, scholarships are awarded to new applicants to the school.  Augusta Prep is fortunate to have been chosen by the Malone Family and Goizueta foundations for scholarship support (see below). These scholarships are awarded to outstanding students with demonstrated need. They can range in value according to the merit and level of need of an applicant. For example, the value of a Malone Scholarship can be as high as the costs of full tuition and fees. No special scholarship application is required. Interested families should complete the admission and financial aid applications.

In addition, Augusta Prep annually awards a small number of scholarships that have a value of up to one-half tuition to rising 5th-11th graders. These scholarships are awarded to new students with demonstrated need who have attractive records of academic achievement and extracurricular leadership and involvement, whether in the arts, athletics, community service, or other interests. Families must demonstrate need by submitting the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) application. All eligible applicants may be considered; however, priority consideration is given to students who apply under either the Early Action or Regular Decision application plans for admission.

At least one Prep academic scholarship, valued at up to one-half tuition, is reserved annually for a student who satisfies one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Resident of Columbia County, Georgia
  • Resident of Richmond County, Georgia
  • Resident of Aiken County, South Carolina
  • Dependent of parent serving in the U.S. military
  • Dependent of parent employed at Augusta University
