Faculty Profile: Chris Hines

Job title:  Assistant to Facilities Manager

Family:  Chris is married to Christi and they have two daughters (Kennedi and Kensley). They also have two pets - both girls - a cat named "Spot" and a dog named "Stella."
 
Background: Chris grew up in Jesup, Ga., playing football, basketball and baseball as a youth. He said his favorite sport was basketball - he played point guard and shooting guard. - where he played at Wayne County High School for Casey Dees, who is currently a principal in the Columbia County School System.  Chris and Christi became a couple in high school, and they remained together as they attended two different colleges.

Upon their 2001 high school graduation, Chris attended Allen University (Columbia, S.C.) where he played football for two years as cornerback, while Christi attended Paine College in Augusta.  He eventually moved to Augusta and the two got married.; they've been married 16 years. Christi now works as a senior accounting analyst.

How he found Prep: In a previous job, Chris learned about an open position at Augusta Prep from Larry Sanders, the current Lower School custodian at Augusta Prep. Chris jumped on the chance to work full-time in the school setting.

What he enjoys about Prep: Chris says he enjoys working at his own pace with, "no one looking over your shoulder," he said. 

Hobbies: Plays basketball, lifts weights, plays video games (Madden football, NBA2K series and "I play Fortnite with my daughter.)
