Free Grammar and Writing Seminar to Rising 8th and 9th Grade Students of Augusta Prep
Posted 05/19/2010 12:30PM
This week-long seminar will take place Monday-Friday, August 2-6 and will include a middle school grammar review, as well as writing review and primer for the upcoming school year. We are offering a morning session and an afternoon session in order to accommodate sports practices and other commitments.
The class will be a mix of rising 8th and 9th graders of all ability levels. A light amount of homework (20 minutes) will be assigned each evening to ensure successful completion of the seminar. Assessments will be taken, but they will not affect your student's grade in the upcoming school year. The seminar will be taught by Laura Harriss in the Upper School, room 17. Not unlike Mrs. McRee's organization and study skills camps, the seminar will simply help prepare your child for the new school year.
Although attendance at this seminar is optional, we do need a count of how many students are interested in participating. So, we need to ask you to have a look at your summer calendar, talk with your child, and respond on or before Monday, May 24 so that we can plan appropriately.
Questions regarding the content of the seminar can be directed to Laura Harriss at laura.harriss@augustaprep.org.
Please let Mrs. McRee know via email if your child will be attending the seminar August 2-6. Also, please indicate if your child would prefer a morning session (10-12) or an afternoon session (12.30-2.30).
