Our AP Extracurricular programs help make us one of the top college prep schools in Augusta, Ga.!

Welcome to AP Extra - Augusta Preparatory Day School's Extracurricular Programs!  It is our goal to offer programs that complement our students’ academic day and support the mission of the school by developing the intellect, talents, and character of each student. Some college prep options are available for students throughout Augusta, Ga., Aiken, S.C., Evans, Ga., and more – not just Augusta Prep students!

There are three components of the AP Extra (our Extracurricular Programs):

After School Enrichment
Augusta Prep After School Enrichment classes are offered weekly to students at Augusta Prep or in the local commuting area.  These engaging and hands-on learning experiences are offered in four 6-week sessions, once a week. Classes are typically for an hour. The program currently offers classes taught by Augusta Prep Faculty or other instructors from the greater CSRA.  These classes are a wonderful way for students to participate in organized and engaging after-school activities.

Conservatory
The Augusta Prep Conservatory Program believes music, art, and dance belong to everyone. Students of all skill levels and ages are welcome - both young and old, accomplished and beginner - to explore, pursue, and strengthen their artistic interests. Our private lesson and group instruction offerings are open to all students in the CSRA! The Knox Music Suite, an acoustically-designed facility, boasts four practice rooms and two classrooms that accommodate private and group music instruction of the highest quality in the Augusta area. How many college prep schools in Augusta, Ga. can say they support the arts across the city?

Our Conservatory Program attracts and utilizes the finest teaching artists in our local professional music and performing arts community. The exceptional faculty recognizes and enjoys the promise of young musicians and performing artists as well as guiding the advanced skills of more experienced musicians. Every expert member in the Conservatory Program has at least an undergraduate degree in Music or Art Education and teaching experience. The Conservatory Program offers Music and Visual Art instruction in the categories listed below:

Extended Day

The Augusta Prep Extended Day program is divided into two divisions; Lower School and Middle School.

Lower School Extended Day
Augusta Prep students PS – 4th grade can stay to play in our Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning-licensed extended day program! This engaging and structured program provides your children with a nutritious snack, socialization, and safe environment to learn and play until 6:00 pm daily.  All children enjoy project based activities, crafts, physical activity and more - and are supervised by staff who have been certified by Bright from the Start. All students must be enrolled at Augusta Prep to participate and must be registered before the first day of attendance.

Middle School Extended Day
This Augusta Prep program provides a chaperoned time where Middle School students are allowed the opportunity to remain on campus and socialize, finish homework, and participate in community service projects safely after regular school hours until 6:00 pm. Middle School students must be engaged in an activity after school (sports, enrichment, extended day) if they choose to remain on campus.  All students are supervised by staff who have been certified by Bright from the Start and will enjoy socializing, project-based activities, homework support, and more! All students must be enrolled at Augusta Prep to participate.
